I Helped the Kids

About Us

I Helped the Kids is a not-for-profit organization that started as a family project in July 2003 with the purpose to share with the children in the Dominican Republic our Christian Values, love and compassion.

Our Mission

Our mission is to deliver love, relief and sustainable efforts to the children in Dajabón, Puerto Plata, Bonao, and other areas of the Dominican Republic through partnering with the local centers that are already organized and established as not-for-profit or schools.

Our Goals

Our goals include but are not limited to the enhancement of primary education to help reducing illiteracy, secure at least one meal a day, ensure medical attention is available for immediate and basic needs such as immunizations, as well as the continuous development and understanding of improving social settings to live with dignity and respect. These goals are  aligned with the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to be achieved by 2015.

Our Journey

Our journey is geared to constantly look for alternatives to raise awareness of the importance of sharing God's love, tangible blessings, knowledge, and time during our joyful trips to the Dominican Republic.   Through this experience, the volunteers gain a strong sense of reality and appreciation for what they have and how important is to represent the love of God to those who are less fortunate.     x8
